“At the Life Beyond Work sessions I discovered it wasn’t just me who was feeling a bit lost and disappointed with the retirement experience. I came away with more understanding of what I needed to do to make my retirement a success.”

“I'm a different person now to the person who did the retirement transition course. I completed the original course 8 years ago and still use the concepts we explored. They provide insight into life and help balance the challenges and opportunities that come after leaving work.”
Greg O’Connell
Former course participant
“I learnt to be kind to myself as I change gears in my career. I learnt to listen and respect my story as I progress to the next chapter in my journey of life. I enjoyed the course immensely. The weekly activities gave you an opportunity to reflect and add tiny habits into your week.”

“Like any major period of change in one’s life, it can feel scary, unsettling and stressful. Life Beyond Work is a shared experience that empowers participants to become ‘transition champions.’”

“Thank you for your team’s excellent Life Beyond Work course […] The tiny actions have already begun to increase my sense of achievement rather than being overwhelmed by all that I haven’t yet had time to do!”
Mike, City of Salisbury Council
Life Beyond Work course participant
“I continue to review my notes, reflect on the learning and complete exercises to see if my mindset has changed. I don't feel the need to retire now when it doesn't suit me. Also, I don't feel as worried about how my retirement will develop when it occurs.”
Alexandrea Cannon OAM
